英國TED環球大會最佳演講說中西政治

最近社交網絡流傳一段英國TED環球大會演講的片段，講者李世默對世界政治的形勢、中國與西方政治的異同作了出色的解說，理論非常獨到精辟，有興趣可瀏覽網站連結。

當中中國與西方政治的異同，我想與中醫及西醫也有類似。中醫講「氣」，是人體生活的基本原動力，人體如何調節自強以適應不同的環境，雖然可能過程較為長，也可能受一點苦，但身體調節後像有了抗體，能夠抵擋更大更多不同種類的病，體現物競天擇。不過，不同的人會有不同需要，難說執好執不好，也不可一本通書睇到老。

Future role of Hong Kong Dollar

HSBC chief Peter Wong Tung-shun recently suggested to review the future role of Hong Kong Dollar with possibility of switching it from linking to the US dollar to Renminbi instead. Some comments have been made by the financial communities including former HK Monetary Authority (HKMA) chief though the official comment made by the government body is "it sees no need and has no intention to change the peg" (SCMP, 1 November 2014)

If you are not so young you may have heard about Foreign Exchange Certificate (FEC, 外匯券) which was the main foreign trade and exchange note after the Open Door Policy. FEC has ceased for circulation in 1995. (More information can be browsed from Wikipedia with this link in Chinese or the section on FEC in English.)

The question "how Hong Kong Dollar to be faded out" is always in my mind though I really do not want to see. Reason being that this would be a sign of fading out of Hong Kong's strategic position. Anyway, in view of the current political and economic landscape, this worths to think further.
